| Christmas Concert at WMS | Our talented students showcased their musical abilities at the annual Christmas concert. The gym was filled with festive cheer as our music production, ukulele players, drumline, orchestra, DIVA Knights, and band members took the floor. We extend our gratitude to our music teachers and the families for their continuous support and encouragement. |

| Teachers' & Staff Performance - "The 12 Days of Christmas" | Our amazing teachers brought joy and laughter to the school community with their annual performance of "The 12 Days of Christmas." It was a delight to see them showcasing their creativity and teamwork. We appreciate our dedicated staff for going above and beyond to make each day special for our students.

| Attendance Matters! | Congratulations to Omari Island for winning the drawing for the attendance incentive! Students got their name in a drawing for a $200 gift certificate to Retro City Shoes for each week they had perfect attendance (no tardies, no checkouts) for the last 6 weeks.

| Music at the Capital | On December 12th, students from the Music Production class performed at the State Capital. They had the opportunity to visit with Representative Matthew Shepherd, the Arkansas Speaker of the House, and explore the House of Chambers.

| Spelling Bee | - January 17th: Our annual Spelling Bee will kick off in English classes. Please encourage your child to start practicing their spelling skills!
- January 29th: Schoolwide Spelling Bee will take place. Our top spellers from each grade level will compete for the championship.

| Valentine's Day Carnation Fundraiser | The WMS Archery Teams will be selling carnation-grams. Surprise your crush, friend, or teacher this year. They are available for purchase until February 9th or sold out! Carnation will be $3.00 for 1 or 2 for $5.00 Carnations will be delivered on February 14th. Buy now from any Archery Member or the office. |
| 100th Day of School | We are thrilled to announce that we will be celebrating the 100th day of school on January 30th! Wow, we've made it this long! |

- January 4th: Welcome back from break! We're excited to have our students back in the classrooms. To celebrate their return, we will be starting our House Color Wars. Encourage your child to wear their designated house color to show their team spirit!
- January 9th: Students will be taking the STAR Math assessment during their math classes. This assessment helps us understand students' math proficiency and track their progress throughout the school year.
- January 11th: Students will be taking the STAR Reading assessment during their reading classes. This assessment helps us gauge their reading comprehension skills and identify areas of growth.
- January 15th: No School in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Take this opportunity to discuss the important contributions and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- January 19th: Snack-a-thon. Students will have the opportunity to purchase their favorite drinks & snacks to enjoy this day.
- January 23rd: Reading Interim assessment will be conducted. This assessment helps us assess students' reading fluency and comprehension skills.
- January 25th: Math Interim assessment will be conducted. This assessment helps us gauge students' math problem-solving abilities and conceptual understanding.
