WMS Student Builds His Own Computer!

Last spring, upon facing the challenges of home schooling and pandemic restrictions, Thatcher Nolan began researching how to build a computer.  He was inspired by one of his WMS teachers from last year, Mr. Rynders, his Creative Computer Coding instructor.  He did his own research on what materials he might need, and then came to his parents with that list.  He asked for odd jobs that he could do to earn money to buy those things. He mowed grass and other little jobs for the next nine months.  After saving $700, he bought some of those computer parts and then asked for the rest for Christmas.  It took him 4 days to assemble it all, using only YouTube videos.  Then, after all that hard work, it wouldn't turn on.  It took another day to figure out his mistake and correct it.  But  it is now up and running! Thatcher has one of the coolest computers in town, that he built himself!

WMS is so proud of Thatcher!
