JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS (JROTC)
The mission of the Junior ROTC Program is to motivate young people to be better citizens. To accomplish this mission, the program of instruction discusses subjects such as citizenship, techniques of communications, leadership and other courses designed to help cadets succeed in high school and after graduation.
The JROTC Program is based on a systematic progression of learning that is designed for the cadet's development at each grade level. The POI (Program of Instruction) is progressive with the scope, focus, and content of the instruction reflecting and building upon the previous year's curriculum. To gain maximum benefit, cadets are encouraged to enroll in JROTC their freshman year and to remain in the program through their Senior Year.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY I
This core instructional program prepares individuals to effectively communicate ideas and information to business and consumer audiences and record events and people via film, still, or video photography. The photography will use traditional film and/or digital photographic media to communicate thoughts, feelings, or ideas.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY II
This core production-based instructional program allows the photography student to implement artistic techniques to effectively communicate ideas and information to business and consumer audiences and record events and people via film, still, or video photography.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY III
This independent production-based program is designed to provide advanced photography students with the knowledge and highly advanced skills for a comprehensive career in photography.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY LAB
This production-based program will allow the serious photography student time for the development of skills and knowledge needed to produce comprehensive photography products.
FOUNDATIONS OF SPORTS MEDICINE
This course is meant to introduce students to the realities of the Sports Medicine field, to educate them about the role an Athletic Trainer plays in the field, and to further investigate the responsibilities of an Athletic Trainer. Students will learn a variety of concepts in healthcare from sports medicine’s historical foundations to injury management. This course will provide students an opportunity for hands on learning, and teaches how to network with other athletic trainers as well as other healthcare professionals in the community.
SPORTS MEDICINE INJURY ASSESSMENT
This course is designed to build off the foundations of Sports Medicine course. It introduces the student to the different types of injuries athletes can suffer within the sports world and how to assess the injuries for recommending treatment. This course provides students with a more specific look at sports medicine from the perspective of injury evaluation that includes advanced injury assessment, and the understanding of common injuries that affect the physically active population. Students will gain a more complete understanding of injury evaluation and the role it plays in the career field of Sports Medicine.
