Mrs. Bailey’s class had a busy day learning and celebrating on Thursday, October 13.  First, representatives from Simmons Bank came to talk about being smart with money. Then, Ms. Leah Stinnett and Ms. Heather Rain, Math Specialists from the South Central Service Co-op, came to present an Illustrative Math lesson on fractions. After that, the celebration in honor of Hispanic Heritage month began! Students made maracas out of water bottles, toilet paper rolls, and duck tape. They feasted on soft tacos and nachos, listened to mariachi music, and took turns hitting the piñata. They left Northwest with big smiles and bags full of treats!
