Yesterday, students got the chance to show off their creativity that they have been working on for the past 2 weeks by presenting their poems in a poetry slam!! This was an amazing experience. Everyone did a fantastic job on their poems & some even came in their 90’s gear!

Another phenomenal day at Washington Middle School! Today our students celebrated their level of responsibility while testing by getting to spend their hard earned tickets at our ACT Aspire Bash! Students had the chance to earn tickets each day of testing during ACT Aspire week, for each test, if they: stayed focused and did their very best throughout the duration of the test, came to school on time, and showed up with their Chromebook fully charged! Students were able to spend their tickets today on things like: extra recess, slip-n-sliding, the dunking booth, and our photo booth. Be on the lookout for more photos and videos to come concerning this spectacular event!

A few reminders about our dress code policy!

Please review the flyer below for a schedule of how our ACT Aspire Reward Day will run this Friday, May 19th. Students need to bring money to school for Snack-A-Thon. All other activities (extra recess, dunking booth, slip-n-slide, and photo booth) can be purchased with their testing tickets! Sno-cone hour is FREE for all students! Friday is going to be an exciting day! We can't wait! NO SWIMSUITS AND OUTFITS MUST STILL MEET DRESS CODE.

Students made predictions and compared the volume of two prisms by determining which one could hold more popcorn. To do this, they had to figure the dimensions of the prisms, find the volume, and then brainstorm why their predictions were correct/incorrect. Finally, they enjoyed eating their popcorn!
