WMS loves when students show kindness! Rayland French was seen practicing his kindness as he was first in line to enter the classroom, but stepped back to allow two ladies enter the class before him.
What a gentleman Rayland! Thank you so much for being kind!

Yesterday Ms. Escamilla's class pulled weeds from the flower beds so they can prep to start planting in the next couple of weeks. WMS is so excited to see things grow this semester!

WMS students followed the Engineering Design Process to plan and construct a bridge prototype in Innovation Station today!
The paper and blocks represent the bridge and beams, and the beads represent number of cars that can safely cross the bridge.

Today Mrs. Hickmott used Peardeck to have an interactive lesson over area! By using Peardeck we can have our in person students work with our virtual students!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:
Sadie Brewster showed kindness in the cafeteria today. She exchanged seats with a student so they wouldn't have to sit alone. She was given a school shirt as a thank you! Way to go Sadie!

The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning for our area. Hurricane Laura is expected to bring rain and high winds to El Dorado tomorrow. Out of caution, the El Dorado School District will not hold face-to-face classes tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, 2020. All classes will be virtual.
We are aware that some of our onsite students do not have a device at home. Any student who does not have access to a device or the internet will not be penalized and will have opportunities to complete their assignments.
Grab and Go breakfast will be available for pickup from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Retta Brown Gifted and Talented Center for elementary and middle schools and at El Dorado High School for junior high and high school students.
Decisions about Friday will be announced tomorrow. We realize this is a late announcement and apologize for any inconvenience.

Please take just a second to review the district dress code guidelines.
