El Dorado Schools is excited to welcome Jimmy Porter as the new head Basketball Coach for the El Dorado Wildcats. Coach Porter comes to El Dorado after serving as Assistant Coach at Jonesboro High School and Head Coach at Gosnell.
Athletic Director Phillip Lansdell said, “We are excited to welcome our new head boys’ basketball coach to El Dorado. Coach Porter has been part of one of the strongest basketball programs in the state. We look forward to seeing our program advance under his leadership.”
Coach Porter is a graduate of Arkansas State University where he coached basketball for the Northeast Arkansas Wings while attending college. He comes to El Dorado with his wife, Tiffany and their three children – Trey (5), Naomi (2), and Tony (1).
Coach Porter says his family is excited to be in El Dorado. “We feel blessed to be given the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing community. Thank you to the administration, school board, staff, and community for accepting us with open arms! We look to build upon the success of the basketball program and put a team on the floor this community can be proud of!”
