Senior Newsletter - February 2021

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that the second semester of your child’s Senior Year is here! This letter is to express to you our sincere interest in helping your child have a successful second semester and to provide valuable scholarship information.

We want your child to finish out their high school year by making the highest grades possible. We stress that students should study hard, complete all assignments, be attentive and responsible, exhibit outstanding behaviors, and attend class onsite or virtually daily.

In order for you to be able to closely monitor your child’s grades and to help him/her succeed, please be aware of the following:  Report cards will be sent home on March 29th. Grades may be accessed through your Home Access Center Account.

It is very important that students complete college applications as soon as possible and reply to scholarship acceptance letters by the deadline. Most universities now encourage students to apply online at the university’s website. We have college information available to students in the Counselor’s Office and the College and Career Coaches are also available to help with applications.

Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to receive federal or state financial aid for college. Many universities require all students to complete the FAFSA in order to receive scholarships. Students applying for and receiving the Arkansas Academic Challenge (Lottery) Scholarship will be required to complete the FAFSA regardless of family income. The FAFSA application should be submitted online at www.studentaid.gov. College and Career Coaches are available to assist with completing the FAFSA. Please email april.malone@esd-15.org or kanesha.evans@esd-15.org for more information.

Please read and keep the attached scholarship information for your reference. Scholarship opportunities will be announced and links posted to the EHS counselors’ page on the EHS website.

If you have any questions, please email or call us at 870-864-5100. We look forward to working with you and your child.

Sincerely,

EHS Counselors
