The book fair is right around the corner; it will be held from February 12 to 15 and will be open during parent/teacher conferences.
We had had over 200 students in both 5th & 6th grade show growth on at least one of their STAR tests. That's 85% of ALL students. WOW! They were rewarded for their hard work with extra recess today.
Congratulations to Ricardo Nino for placing 1st in the 6th grade division of the Union County Math Competition. Ricardo, along with Jaxen Lemley, Kaden Hetrick, Leah Jennings, Cannon Felts, and Ralin Burdine, will be representing our school in the MathCounts competition at SAU in Magnolia. Good luck to all of them!

Several students earned a free sno cone for improvement on both of their STAR tests. Students who showed growth in at least one test will earn a free recess next week.

Willy Wonka Jr auditions for will be held at WMS cafeteria and stage area on Monday, January 22, 2024. The auditions will be held from 3:45pm-5:45pm. Auditions are open to all WMS students. ONLY students, who have returned a signed audition consent form, will be able to sign up for an audition time slot and audition. You must have a ride to and from the auditions. Students please be in the cafeteria at least 10 minutes before your audition time. Think Positive!!!

Students in Mrs. Braswell’s AO class were challenged to create a structure using 10 pipe cleaners, a small cup, and a ruler. The goal was to make the empty cup stand 3 inches off the table. Once they achieved this, 50 pennies were placed in the cup to test the structure’s ability to hold the weight.
